After her junior year of college, Chelsea decided to pursue a summer experience in Washington. Landing in the office of one of her home state representatives, Congressman Jim Clyburn (SC-6), Chelsea became engrossed in the Washington political machine. She immersed herself in the issues that were of greatest importance to her home state of South Carolina, such as education, affordable housing, and agriculture. Through that experience, she found that education issues—specifically higher education policy—most interested her, which led her to become a student leader at her alma mater, Furman University.  At Third Way, Chelsea leverages her undergraduate and Capitol Hill experiences to inform her work on the education team. Chelsea is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in the higher education policy space, as well as planning and executing events that allow for greater dialogue about how to improve outcomes and the value of higher education for all students.

Chelsea earned her B.A. from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. She will soon begin graduate studies in higher education administration at George Washington University. When not working, she spends her free time with family, exercising, shopping, or eating her way through the city!
