Sean Gibbons is the Vice President for Communications at Third Way, which Reuters recently proclaimed, “the future of think tanks”. He oversees all of Third Way’s communications strategy, media outreach, design & production, marketing, social media and events. Previously, he served as the Director of Media Strategy at the Center for American Progress, which The New Yorker called, “perhaps the most important institution in Democratic politics.” Prior to joining CAP, Gibbons was a Washington-based producer for CNN, where he was recognized by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for his role in CNN’s live coverage of the September 11th attacks. Before joining CNN, he worked at ABC News on programs including World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, Nightline with Ted Koppel and This Week with David Brinkley. Gibbons has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Journal, CNN, NPR, CBS News, ABC News and the BBC among others. He is a graduate of Colby College and was a Hansard Scholar at the London School of Economics.
