SUMMARY

An amendment being offered to the Defense bill this week will allow people from New York City to carry a firearm when they visit South Dakota. Does that seem like a good idea to you? Senator John Thune of South Dakota thinks it’s a great idea. His amendment will allow anyone with a concealed carry permit issued in their state to carry that gun wherever they go. It’s the biggest pre-emption of state gun laws in history. Who should decide who can carry a firearm in your community – your local government or Sarah Palin?
