Policy Advisor, Economic Program
David Brown is a policy advisor for Third Way’s Economic Program, where he focuses on fiscal policy and the U.S. economy. David’s analysis covers the federal budget, tax policy, Social Security and retirement policy. His papers and commentary have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Reuters, and The Wall Street Journal.
Previously, David was a middle school and high school social studies teacher. He taught at YES Prep Public Schools in Houston and at St. Mary’s Boys Secondary School in Nyeri, Kenya. David earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Rice University and a master’s degree in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
