A Strategy for the Future of Nuclear Energy: The Consolidated Working Group Report
Nuclear energy is an American-born technology, and it provides 20% of our electricity without generating emissions or pollutants. And yet, in the age of cheap gas and high costs, the future for nuclear in the U.S. is cloudy.
So what can government do about that?
Over the past year, a group of government and industry leaders convened by Third Way and the Idaho National Laboratory have been working on a consensus set of recommendations that answer that question. The New Millennium Nuclear Energy Partnership has developed a strategy to ensure nuclear remains a viable option for the U.S. In this report, we offer analysis and specific proposals for Congress, the Administration, the NRC, and the private sector.
