We, the undersigned individuals and organizations, have issued a joint statement on yesterday’s short-term agreement:

“We thank the Congress and President for coming together and passing a deal to reopen the government and extend the borrowing limit. They now have the opportunity to engage in real discussions on how to address our nation’s fiscal challenges in a comprehensive, bipartisan manner. We urge both chambers and the White House to work together on a plan to pay our bills, fund the government, make progress on reforming our tax code, fix our entitlement programs, revise the sequester, and put the national debt on a more sustainable long-term path. That process starts with yesterday’s agreement.”
