Joshua Taylor Named Director of Communications for Third Way

WASHINGTON – Third Way announced today that Joshua Taylor will serve as its Director of Communications starting September 21st. A veteran of the Obama Administration and Capitol Hill, Taylor comes to Third Way from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), where he most recently served as Acting Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs.
“Josh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Third Way, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the team,” said Third Way President Jonathan Cowan. “Josh has earned a reputation as an exceptional leader and skilled communicator throughout his time in the Administration, on Capitol Hill, and on political campaigns. He will be a vital asset in leading our communications team and advancing Third Way’s mission.”
Taylor has more than 14 years of experience in federal and state politics. From 2003 to 2011, he served as the communications director for former Congressman Chet Edwards. He took a break from Congress in 2008 to join the Obama presidential campaign as its Texas Communications Director. Taylor joined VA in 2011 as Press Secretary and was later promoted to Deputy Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs and then Acting Assistant Secretary. In that capacity, he led a nationwide team and oversaw VA’s entire public affairs operation.
A native of Texas, Taylor attended The University of Texas at Austin and resides in Silver Spring, Maryland with his family.
