Inside Politics with Bill Schneider and Mark Zandi

Each month, revered political analyst and longtime CNN contributor, Bill Schneider hosts a private press briefing to provide insight into the politicians, polls, and issues that are shaping our political landscape.

This month Bill's special guest was Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics. Dr. Zandi is an influential author and economic analyst for policymakers, businesses, and the public. Unlike many in Washington, he knows what he is talking about.

Dr. Zandi joined us to talk about the effects of failing to raise the nation's debt ceiling and a possible default, as well as about the economic consequences of governing by crisis, the specific impacts of proposed deals in Congress, the market and economic implications of delaying a debt deal into early 2014, and other speculations about the impact of a default.
