DETAILS: Creating jobs and promoting recovery were top priorities for Congress in 2010. Third Way’s first Idea Forum of the year focused on this topic by examining new initiatives to foster private sector job creation and middle class success. The forum brought together leading policymakers and gave them the opportunity to discuss ways that the federal government can support recovery by spurring domestic manufacturing, entrepreneurship, small business, clean energy development, and other activities. Speakers included Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-5), Rep. Joe Courtney (CT-2), Rep. Frank Kratovil (MD-1), Rep. Dan Maffei (NY-25), and Rep. John Boccieri (OH-16). The discussion was moderated by Neil Irwin of The Washington Post.
