Economic Program Project Director
Anna has a passion for making a difference. She fell in love with Washington, D.C. and the impact working in D.C. can have during her junior year in college when she spent a semester off-campus living and working here. After graduating from college, she returned and has since been working to effect positive change every day.
Part of the Economic Program, Anna is responsible for coordinating engagement among stakeholders and overseeing the development of a large economic conference in 2018. Prior to joining Third Way, Anna served as a Presidential Appointee for the Obama administration at the U.S. Department of Education Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. In this role, she assisted the White House and Department of Education in connecting schools with community partners (both faith-based and secular). Among the highlights of Anna’s work at the Department of Education was leading the President’s Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge, an initiative founded by President Obama to challenge college campuses to participate in community service with an element of interfaith dialogue. Over 600 campuses responded to this initiative and met annually in Washington, D.C. for a two-day conference focused on campus engagement.
Anna received her Bachelor in Social Studies for Secondary Education from Hope College in Holland, MI and her Masters in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University. In her spare time, Anna enjoys socializing with friends and family, running, and curling up with a good book. Anna also enjoys traveling and hopes to visit all 50 states and every continent in her lifetime.
